Ms. Rasika Chaube, a graduated from the prestigious Isabella Thoburn College, Lucknow. She is a post-graduate in Psychology and is also an M.Phil. She Joined the Civil Services in 1986 at a young age of 23 years. She assumed charge as FA(DS) with effect from 01st July 2022. She had been holding additional charge of Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA) between Oct 2022 to Sep 2023. Previously, she was Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Steel, Government of India from August 2018. She was Joint Secretary & Financial Advisor to two Hon’ble Presidents of India Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil from 2002 to 2012. She had also held the coveted appointment of Principal IFA (Air Force) where her office was awarded the Raksha Mantri Award for Excellence - 2017. She’s also an alumni of National Defence College (2013 batch), New Delhi.
She was a member of the Collegiate Boards for Defence Procurement viz. the Defence Procurement Board and the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) etc. She has been a Member of the high-profile DRDO Review Committee headed by Dr. Vijayaraghavan, Ex-Principal Scientific Adviser.Smt. Rasika Chaube spearheaded the ‘International Conference on Defence Finance and Economics, 2023 after a long gap of 17 years aiming for a sustainable blue print for Defence Expenditure with smart innovation and optimization of Defence Budget. As CGDA, she ensured a shift from conventional audit to risk-based performance audit providing real time MIS to the executive. Faceless Payment Processing System for the Defence Accounts Department was also launched to bring in more transparency, efficiency and probity in payment.Smt. Rasika Chaube is the first FA(DS) who has been given a 5-month extension in service beyond her superannuation on 31st Oct 2023.She is also an avid reader and deeply interested in Art and Culture.
